About this Position

Riverbed is actively seeking Software Engineers to help build the next generation of software-defined networking infrastructure. We are looking for developers with an interest in Software Defined Networking (SDN), distributed control plane algorithms, network overlays, and underlay dynamic routing protocols. As a member of this team, you will be in charge of designing and implementing high performance network service functions and a control plane that scales to thousands of nodes across a wide-area-network.


What you ‘ll do:


  • Design and develop new features and improvements for SDWAN solutions on SteelConnect
  • Identify improvement areas and architect elegant, optimal solutions
  • Communicate clearly with peers and stakeholders about ideas, designs, and implementation details
  • Work closely with fellow engineers to arrive at consensus-based approaches to problems
  • Work with QA to explain new features and assist in test-plan development
  • Troubleshoot complex customer issues that require deep understanding of network protocols and Linux networking internals


What you should have:


  • 10+ years of hands on software development experience
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP & Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
  • Hands-on programming experience in both user and Linux kernel space
  • Good understanding of the Linux networking internals
  • Experience in data plane and control plane architecture
  • Experience in variety of development languages including C, C++ and Python
  • Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed systems, computer networking, multi-threaded programming
  • Strong software design, development and debugging skills
  • Bachelor or MS degree in Computer Science
