About this Position

The Technical Evangelists team is a group of passionate technologists who believe they can change the world. They are innovative and creative, they have high standards, they want to have fun whilst making a great impact on the market and their career.


Riverbed’s Technical Evangelists’ mission is to drive the adoption of disruptive technologies that enable customers’ Digital Transformation. Everything we do, every initiatives we lead serve that mission.


How do we do that?


  • As Subject Matter Experts, we inspire and listen to the sales teams so to make them successful.
  • We engage with customers and prospects to craft technical solutions that support their business goals
  • We are very vocal on the market to promote Riverbed’s solutions and explain our technology.

So concretely what’s our day-to-day life?


We equip Riverbed’s sales force and partners with:

  • An environment and guidelines to drive impactful demos
  • Technical training materials
  • Competitive analysis
  • RFI/RFP guidelines
  • Field best practices

We act as the liaison between Product Management/Engineering and the field by:

  • Managing the flow of information.
  • Understanding and reporting requirements to close key deals.
  • Working with Product Management to process feedback and prioritize features development

We produce Technical Collateral that explains our technologies to customers:

  • Blog articles
  • Solutions briefs, white papers…
  • Videos

We drive awareness and seek for feedback:

  • At Executive Briefings and Trade shows
  • By creating and animating platforms for Early-Adopters and User groups

By building relationships with Influencers (Analysts, Bloggers, Consultants…)

  • By being thought provocative with crazy ideas

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Story teller and active listener with strong communication skills (written and verbal) in English. Second language a plus.
  • Entrepreneur with sense of urgency, ownership and empathy
  • Team player and happy to help others
  • Willing to learn and go out of her/his comfort zone
  • Ability to translate technical features into tangible customer business benefits
  • You must possess a unique combination of deep technical skills and business acumen as well as a do-what-it-takes attitude to ensure our sales force and partners are able to take full advantage of Riverbed’s portfolio and are delivering high value for our end customers.
  • BS in CS, EE or technical degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Able and willing to travel, including internationally, up to 25% of the time

Technical requirements and experience

  • Experienced and recognized with appropriate professional or expert certifications in either:
    • Enterprise networking architecture, design and operations: LAN, WAN, Wireless LAN, routing, security…
    • Cloud architecture (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Clouds…) with strong background in storage, virtualization, automation
    • On-premise to Cloud migrations or critical IT transformations
    • Design, coding and implementation of complex IT systems
  • Experienced in customer facing, sales-aligned role such as consultant, systems engineer or solutions architect a big plus!
