    Position Summary:


    The End User Device Engineer is a member of the End User Experience team and is focused on driving a seamless, secure, and superior experience for users, from the endpoint perspective.  The position is responsible for establishing and maintaining the systems, tools, policies, and processes required to deploy and support application and workforce services to end user devices across the enterprise.  Duties focus on defining standards, deployment methods, supported configurations for IT provisioned desktop/laptop systems using Windows and Mac Operating systems as well as end user devices following Riverbed BYOD policy.  


    The position is also be responsible for completing or overseeing testing and qualifying all desktop/laptop software and updates in accordance with all compliancy and audit requirements.  


    Key elements of the role also include knowledge of tools that manage the distributed desktop environment including, platform OS updates, security updates, Group Policy updates, Security deployment protecting our resources from virus, malware and hacking, updates to antivirus and protective measures to ensure the information and access is restricted to authorized users. End User Device Engineering also defines and creates the next generation desktop platform for Riverbed Technology as well as roadmaps for supporting releases from iOS and Android smartphone and tablet providers. 


    Technical Skill Requirements: 


    • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain the current Windows and Mac images and provisioning workflows 
    • Proven SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) administration experience
    • Imaging, application packaging/deployment, reporting, SCCM architecture
    • Proven JAMF administration experience
    • DEP workflow, application packaging/deployment, configuration profiles, JAMF architectural design and planning
    • Experience developing automation solutions using scripting techniques (PowerShell, Bash)
    • Experience developing packages for wide scale distribution for Windows and Mac
    • Strong working knowledge and experience with the deployment and management of enterprise applications including:
    • Active Directory, Office 2013/2016, Office 365 platform, Skype for Business, A/V technology
    • Experience with Intune is a plus
    • Provide sound architectural and design documentation of solutions implemented




    • Experience with security standards and solutions preferred (Microsoft LAPS, AvectoPUA, Nessus, FireEye, Splunk universal forwarder, NIST 8000-171, GDPR, CIS Benchmarks) 
    • Experience with NoMADfor Mac is a plus 
    • Linux and Ubuntu desktop management experience ishighly desirable.

    • Excellent communication skills.  Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with customers team members and management.

    • Experience working with multiple service partners in a sourcing relationship for managing image deployments, updates, and qualification testing 
    • Must be a self-starter; able to work in a fast-paced environment; able to perform well under pressure
    • Excellent time management:  ability to prioritize queue, project, and other assignments; 
    • Strong team player working on both shared and individual assignments 
    • Ability to mentor and train colleagues 
    • Motivated by the challenges and rewards of a fast-moving company 

    Additional expectations of the position:  

    • Multitask and contribute to and lead simultaneous multiple projects
    • Become SME on applicable Riverbed internal products (e.g. SteelCentralAternity, Steelhead Mobile) 
    • Review and comment on operational business for continued risk reduction, with an emphasis security risk mitigation
    • Remain calm and professional under stress
    • Contribute to technical documentation (White Papers, FAQs, Solutions) for internal and/or external use


    Experience and Education:  

    • Qualified candidates should possess a minimum 5 years of recent, professional, hands on and some over the phone technical support experience.  
    • BA/BS degree preferred or comparable experience
