    About this Position

    About Solutions Team:


    The primary responsibility of this team is to ensure all the “Customer Use-cases” are validated in-house before a product release. This team is expected to work with Marketing, Product Management & System Engineering to derive Solutions based on customer needs/environments & respective product features, deploy the Topologies & Solutions and Validate all possible use-cases. This team will work across all Product Engineering team to ensure that a new feature is implemented appropriately, without compromising on legacy.


    Key Responsibilities:


    • Perform system analysis, monitoring and performance tuning.
    • Develop tooling to aid in infrastructure development.
    • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues, work with Engineering to resolve issues.
    • Streamline in house engineering and operational practices to drive continuous improvements in quality, reliability and efficiency.
    • Design customer centric (enterprise, SP, SMB, Federal…) and deployment test cases.
    • Install the hardware both physical and virtual required to emulate large scale out efficient models.
    • Execute tests and troubleshooting failures, identifying bugs as they arise
    • Collaborate and closely work with the product development, architects, TME’s, customer facing support organization to isolate, characterize, and reproduce bugs.
    • Write bug reports that include a complete characterization of the conditions under which the bug is triggered, the behavior that results, and an assessment of the impact on customers.
    • Recognize ways we can make our products better for a zero touch, highly reliable, repeatable automation with top quality to deliver the best user experiences.
    • Deliver best practices: write succinctly with a detailed explanation of how they will help improve customer satisfaction.


    Required Skills and Experience:


    • BS/BE/BTech or MS/ME/MTech degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
    • Minimum of 7+ years of systems experience.
    • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools.
    • Highly detailed working knowledge of layer 2-7 technologies such as IP forwarding, IP multicast, OSPF, BGP, ECMP, VRRP, WCCP, VLANs, 802.1q tagging, Filesystems, Unix, Linux, Security, SSL, SSH, Ipsec, GRE, L2 and L3 VPNs
    • Strong grasp of automation tools. Well-versed in scripting and automation in large production server environments, using Python and/or Perl.
    • Experience with systems and IT operations.
    • Comfortable with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment.
    • Good data management skills and strong focus on business outcomes.
    • Comfortable with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders.
    • Knowledge of configuring and managing CI/CD systems such as Jenkins or Bamboo a plus.
    • Monitoring and maintaining resources on Linux, CentOS, Windows and AWS platforms.
    • Familiarity with network traces and ability to analyze traces and troubleshoot networking issues using Wireshark.
