    We are looking for an outgoing and enthusiastic sourcing professional to join the Riverbed Corporate Purchasing team. This is an exciting chance to touch many different areas of the business with a tremendous opportunity for growth and development.


    The Senior Sourcing Specialist will analyze a wide range of projects and purchase requisitions; be knowledgeable of the Strategic Sourcing process, negotiate terms and price, draft contracts, perform financial reviews, and deliver best practices. This role will also be responsible for managing the Riverbed Oracle Purchase Order process, provide input for continuous improvement, and implement efficiencies.

    Job Duties:

    • Manage the day to day purchasing operations in reviewing purchase requisitions, issuing purchase orders, coordinating contracts, and providing best in class customer service.
    • Proactively review all purchase requisitions for accuracy, correctly issue purchase orders, review contracts terms and conditions, and resolve issues as they occur.
    • Present formal corporate purchasing training to both individuals and large groups.
    • Work effectively with vendors to manage the day-to-day interaction with business stakeholders, finance, legal, accounts payable, and senior management.
    • Obtain quotes, order forms, statements of work, and negotiate price where applicable.
    • Analyze and evaluate competitive bids to ensure optimal terms and conditions.
    • Collaborate throughout the organization to ensure the purchasing process is streamlined, turn-around times optimized, and level of service best in class.
    • Build and cultivate partnered relationships with stakeholders from IT, Marketing, Professional Services, Engineering, Facilities, Travel, and HR.
    • Continually review procedures, and recommend new and innovative efficiencies.
    • Perform data/spend analysis, and build department reporting.
    • Create presentations, vendor analysis, and participate in general purchasing duties.
    • Coordinate and manage RFP process on behalf of stakeholders as assigned.
    • Coordinate strategic vendor/supplier Business Review process as assigned.



    • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university.
    • 3-5 years full-time professional purchasing and procurement experience.
    • 3-5 years’ experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, Ariba, and Coupa.
    • 3+ years sourcing IT, technology, professional services, and marketing related categories.
    • Must possess a high degree of organizational and administrative skills to proactively manage PO/Contracting process.
    • Experience independently negotiating purchases/contracts and a clear understanding of the sourcing and procurement function.
    • Ability to interpret and utilize key financial data in negotiations.
    • Ability to establish effective working relationships with stakeholders and gain confidence.
    • Must have strong multitasking capabilities, project management skills, and work effectively when there are tight deadlines.
    • Must be a self-starter, able to work autonomously, but work in a team.
    • Must communicate and present clearly and effectively with stakeholders and suppliers.
    • Must be highly organized, have close attention to detail, and be a keen problem solver.
    • Utilize strong planning, scheduling, and time management.
    • Good sense of humor, ability to handle stressful situations when working under time constraints.
    • Advanced level of MS Office: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
