    About this Position

    Position: Inside Sales Representative - Commercial 

    Location: Austin




    The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is responsible for using the phone and internet extensively to contact business owners, decision makers and influencers to continuously develop leads culminating into meeting appointments and new business opportunities for outside sales.


    • Conduct research on prospect companies and source new sales opportunities through lead follow up calls and emails to drive new incremental opportunities and pipeline
    • Ability to focus on a market segment, research and identify new leads for prospecting
    • Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure
    • Achieve monthly and quarterly target metrics
    • Maintain and expand your database of prospects and customers within your assigned territory
    • Responsible for expanding Install Bases’ investment in Riverbed
    • Experience using SalesForce.com or similar tool required to identify and close deals
    • Manage inbound leads and outbound “cold calling” to a defined set target prospect accounts
    • Contact prospects and partners through, but not limited to, phone calls, email, and seminars to communicate opportunities to extend initiatives with the Company
    • Ensure prospect handoff to sales, business development, and support are successful, and exceed customer’s satisfaction
    • Create and provide reports and ensure frequent communication on prospect accounts
    • Effectively articulate the value of hardware and software to both technical and non-technical buyers
    • Manage and document the details of the sales cycle in Salesforce.com
    • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager’s discretion.




              Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business discipline required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    Training, License, Certification Requirements:


             Completed courses in strategic sales training preferred



    • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in Sales or or Sales Support role within Telecommunications, Networking or Software/Hardware industry
    • Application Management or related IT specific software/hardware sales experience is a plus
    • Experience with prospecting and growing an ecosystem

    Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Understanding of the sales process techniques and strategies
    • Ability to turn a technical sales prospect into ROI business analysis
    • Ability to make 50+ calls per day
